| The business was founded in 1936 by Daniel Manderson at 62 Clyde Street East, Helensburgh, Scotland. |
 |
|
The initial employment was installing electricity into homes around the town and the
selling and maintenance of radios. After a few years it was found necessary to expand the premises
which was down by purchasing the shop next door. With so many people having electricity installed
in their homes there was always a demand for the appliances which were being introduced like kettles
irons heaters and of course maintenance items such as bulbs plugs cables etc.

The demand was so high another shop was purchased in 1948 in the west end of the town.
This shop concentrated on the electrical side of the business, while the original shop in the East end sold
and maintained radios, and of course is now heavily into T.V., Audio, terrestrial and satellite systems.
It is still a family business today, being run now by Daniel's son daughter and grandson.
Today Mandersons carry out installations for domestic and commercial properties - such as pubs and installing
Plasma screens and multi room satellite systems - All with personal attention.
